Not a complete guide: This is mostly a picture book with very little detail. I read it in under an hour and still had no idea about issues like electrical, pump size, and caluculating flow for a waterfall. If I was in a brick and mortar store, I would have never bought this title. Instead, I have found a lot of use out of "Ortho's All about Garden Pools and Fountains".
Only pictures: If you are a beginer in pond building and you need everything explained to details, do not buy this book. I bought it and it's just not good. You can read it under a hour and you'll see only pictures with nothing on them.
Excellent Book!: How to Build Ponds and Waterfalls : The Complete Guide by Jeffrey Reid is an excellent how-to book for wildlife garders.
A great DIY book for Ponds: This book is well illustrated and explained - there are numerous examples. For a first-time builder like me, the information on excavating, plumbing and landscaping was very useful.I have a beautiful pond in my backyard now. I haven't started on my waterfall yet but will look back into this book when I do. I used another book to get started - A Complete Introduction to Garden Ponds and that's a good book too if you are a beginner.
