fun and engaging: My daughter was delighted to get the book and read it right away. She also read it to her friends and family. It's a great read.
What a fun book!: My kids love this book. They loved reading it at the babysitter's house and so I had to get them one of their own. We love it!
Two boys' review: A disappointing sequel to a fun pirate book: This isn't a pirate book. This is a babysitting book with a guest appearance by Captain Braid Beard and his crew of seven. What made the first book interesting -- Jeremy Jacob experiencing the highs and lows of life on a pirate ship -- is exactly why this book never takes off. The pirates come to Jeremy's house and there's just not much interesting to do or see there. My sons -- ages 5 and 4 -- love to read about pirates during their bedtime. They'll ask me to reread their favorites but this book never garnered a second request. In summary, I recommend "How I Became a Pirate" but advise you to leave this sequel on the shelf.
Rrrrrrghhhhhh: Wonderful Book! Our family actually likes this one more than the preceeding book "How I Became A Pirate" also by the same author and illustrator.. This book will have the entire family talking like pirates...but with out swearing! =) My daughter requested this one night after night, she then could rectite it entirely by herself. She would pretend to "read" it to her younger sister. You will not be disappointed it this book! Our family of four loves it! "Ahoy there Jeremy Jacob!"
My 3 Year Old Loved It!: We bought it for "International Talk Like a Pirate Day". My 3 year old loved it!
