A must have for teachers of US History This book ages well. Everytime I turn to it as a resource I am amazed at the wealth of information and ideas for projects. The book is broken into four parts: Profiles of Students in Action; A History of Citizen Movements; Techniques for Participation; and Student Activities. The histories of the civil rights, labor, women's rights, consumer and environmental movements are rich and concise. The student's activities are meaningful, challenging, purposeful and appropriate for teenagers. See also:
