good: Good book. well written and keeps your attention all the way through. excellent discriptive writing.
Read this trilogy!!: Stephen Lawhead is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Rather than write three separate reviews, I'll sum up this trilogy with one word: FANTASTIC!! Paradise War starts off a little slow the first 100+ pages as Lawhead sets up the premise of the story. I won't get into specific details as others have already done that, but let's just say that our two main characters Lewis and Simon get transported into a world not like ours, a world steeped in Celtic lore and fantasy. Lawhead does an even better job of building the world of Albion in The Silver Hand, and we see Lewis' (or Llew as he's known now) destiny. More twists and turns follow in The Endless Knot. Although the ending is fairly predictable, the Song of Albion draws to a nice conclusion. I'm not a huge fan of stories written in first person, but Lawhead is quickly making me a fan. He has the ability to write an engaging plot, with loveable characters and a world that makes you feel like you're in the middle of it. I can't recommend this series enough for fantasy fans as well as readers looking for a great story.
Great Fantasy: This book was one my parents bought for me, it took me a while to get into it, but I was determined to read it. Halfway through the book I got to where I didn't want to put it down at all, I just sat and finished the entire book in one day, a great book that I would read again.
Eh, why such good reviews?: Another series created out of the idea that a run of the mill dude discovers an alternate world, where he all a sudden becomes courageous and forgets his past. Besides that, the build up of a great magical climax is greatly over hyped, as it falls flat. Dont buy this novel if you are looking for your next great fantasy read
A good beginning: This was a good and exciting read. I was first exposed to Stephen Lawhead when I read Hood. The Paradise War was reminiscent of Hood and Scarlet of the King Raven trilogy. Lawhead's knowledge of Celtic lore and his story telling is intriguing. I highly recommend this to all readers of fantasy and mythology.
