Another excellent David Fletcher book: David Fletcher is one of the best writers on the History of British Armour. Any of his titles are worth reading. If a person wanted only a single volume to read on the begins of the Tank in British service, this would be that volume. It has excellent illustrations, a highly readable text style and manages to avoid most of the ax grinding found in developmental histories of tanks, especially those that center on the Great War. A fun read by a researcher that can walk out of his office and go examine most of the vehicles he is describing in the building next door. A asset to any armor library or any colelction on the Great War.
