Pleasing and Practical!: It is difficult to find a comprehensive curriculum guide for infants and toddlers- but here it is! This book is well-organized and easy-to-read. It begins with basic information on developmental issues specific to infants and toddlers. Then it moves on to practical information on how to create an optimal environment for infants, toddlers, and their families. Information is culturally-sensitive and developmentally appropriate. There are numerous sample forms and program plans that professionals can use as a guide in creating an infant/toddler program. There are also vignettes that allow the reader to see how the information can be applied. I highly recommend this book as a reference for the professional working with this population!
Good Supplement: This is a good general book for preschool setup. It tells how to set up a program and what aspects of the day are important to include for the developmental level of very young children. However, it is not really a curriculum per se, as it does not include lesson plans or even a great many of suggested learning activities. While it contains a lot of important and useful information, it needs to be accompanied by a book which has more detailed activities.
Our curriculum of choice!: This is the curriculum adopted by our school district for Infant/Toddler Early Intervention programs and Pre K VE.
