I got the idea to write this book several years ago and started making notes and reliving it. Every time I'd start to write, it brought back memories I wanted to forget. There were times I thought I would quit because it bothered me too much to think of some of the things that happened. None of that seems very important now compared to losing John. Things changed when we lost our son John in a car accident May 24, 2002. None of those other experiences seemed important anymore, also I needed something to try and take my mind off that tragedy. I thought I had hauled some big loads in my life but I never had to have a load as big as this one. Writing this book is what got me through. I think while reading the story of my life and my loss, a person will understand why I call it Hauling the Biggest Load.
