nice dresser, but not so shabby chic... We bought the dresser to use as a TV stand in our bedroom. It is very strong (and very hearvy) so it has no trouble at all holding our large TV. It is a nice color and has nice little detailing. However, I wouldn't really call this "shabby chic." Those interested in a vintage or distressed dresser - don't look here. The dresser is made of MDF, which means if you won't be able to "shabby it up" yourself. I like the Simply Shabby line... but the whole thing sort of puzzles me. Shabby Chic was supposed to be about inexpensive treasures you find and fix up yourself, right? Nothing about this line is necessarily inexpensive. Kinda pricey for MDF product(This is not well-made, all wood Pottery Barn furniture, afterall). And nothing about the dresser looks old or vintage. If you want a pretty cottage-y dresser that is readily available, this is a nice item. If you are into vintage, notsomuch. P.S. I didn't notice a smell like people on the Target site had complained about. Chabby Chic Dresser I really liked this product - very sturdy and looks nice in my daughters room. Since I heard the "paint smell" could be overwhelming when it first comes out of the box, I did leave it in the garage for a few days before bringing it into the house - that seemed to do the trick! Overall, very nice product for the money and I plan on buying other pieces from the same line! See also:
