This crape myrtle begins its seasonal show with magnificent, dark wine red inflorences that stand upright on the trees like torches in summer. In fall, foliage reliably turns red and orange. Over winter, the exposed bark offers unique peeling texture with light silvery contrasts in the traditional sinuous crape myrtle fashion. All this is matched by improved cold hardiness, mildew resistance and limited suckering. Use as an accent, a high profile hedge, or specimen shrub. Deciduous. Moderate growth to 10 to 20 feet tall and nearly as wide or prune to desired size and shape. Shipped as a potted one gallon plant in its original soil and container. Hardy to USDA zone 7, and growing in all higher zones. Can make a great container plant on sunny porch, patio, or deck. See also:
