A Perfect End To The Deep Elm Era -- I played this record for a friend, who is hardly a fan of this kind of music, while we were driving and he pulled over and stopped the car. We sat in silence until the entire EP was over..... This is an amazing record for any musician - anyone that understands what layering is - anyone that finds heartbreaking lyrics and driving guitars an unbelievably wonderful paradox - anyone that is damn sick of the radio. This record is worth the ($$) or whatever you pay... and then also worth the $7+ gas you'll pay when you decide after hearing the record that you HAVE to see them live. If you've ever believed a total stranger, believe one now. Give it a few listens before you make up your mind and then you will love this record.
Perfect Brandtson Record -- "Is this Jimmy eat worlds new record?" Some of my friends asked me this as they heard the first few seconds of BRANDTSONs last ep. Well, I really like all of the Brandtson stuff, but this catched me again. This new EP I guess will be more accesable to some listeners than their last releases. I would even say, it's there best release next to the first two records. The songs are catchy, but deep. Have the best sound since a long time. Clever lyrics again. You really could listen to this CD all over again. Normally I don't think I have to argue about the quality of these songs, but as I read the "no more pop-punk" thing, I had to say that this is not Poppunk at all in a bad sense. This EP rocks with 6 wonderful melody driven Guitarsongs. And by the way: it's big big fun to hang out with these guys live!!!
Absolutely Fantastic!!! -- Wanna know why these guys are my favorite band??? Consistency...They produce music that works best for them and have NEVER changed since they've started (with the exception of Letterbox slightly) But this album along with all of their others is great...Little bit emo, little bit pop, little bit indie, just a great combination with those ever so lovely harmonies they pull off so well...Every song on this EP is fabulous...I've seen these guys at least 10 times and their live show is just as good as the album...Why aren't they bigger than they are??? Who knows, but let's just hope that time and consistency pays off...Keep up the excellent work guys...Buy this EP and every Brandtson album you can - TODAY!!!
Please Brandtson, No More Pop-Punk -- This is Brandtson's worst album by far. Each of their previous albums had at least one annoying pop-punk song on them, but it was easy to just "skip" to the next song. This album is full of annoying songs. If you're a Brandtson fan it might be best to "skip" this album and stick with their previous works of art.
Brandtson Are Brandtson, And No One Can Be That. -- The end of the era at Deep Elm, and this EP shows what they Brandtson are. Following up to their brillant 'Dial In Sound' release, Brandtson just takes your breath away with anything they release. Here are the top 3 songs EP: 1. 'You Do The Science' - Brandtson always start their releases with a fast track. This one is no different. A great album opener. 2. 'On Three' - On my favorite on this album, and by Brandtson. The whole song poises the brillance of Myk Porter and Jared Jolley dual vocals. The lyrics are inspirational. 6. 'In A Word' - Beautiful. Thats how i discribe it. The chorus is stunning, the music is brillant, and the lyrics are amazing. The song ends with a great musical ending. A great way to end their EP. Though i have only wrote about 3 tracks, the rest this EP is solid through out. This EP, along with anything by Brandtson is one for the collection. I dont know how some people can call this pop punk, because i dont hear any punk. Yes, a lot of the tracks are catchy, but its still not pop punk. But do check out, and buy Brandtson music, because its beautiful, and do catch them live, because they are amazing.
