Solid and dependable:
The battery on my big 100-lap watch wore down, I put on my little dinky Timex 30-lap model, then in an idle moment I plunked for this 150-lap number, nearly identical to my 100-lap version. It arrived recently. Oboy it's heavy after wearing the little dinky one. It's also got stiffer buttons than my other Timexes. That's good. Less likely that I'll hit the lap button accidentally. This is my fifth Ironman Triathlon in two years. Why would you want this many watches of the same general type? Well for one thing, they're pretty cheap. I lose at least one watch a year. For another, you always have a backup. They all have two time-zone settings and various alarms--great for travel. But mostly I like the familiar function menu of the Ironman Triathlon buttons. Southwest button changes display, southeast stops/resets, northeast is the light, northwest recalls your laps. This system has remained the same for many years. Even if my brain forgets the sequence, my hand remembers. General recommendation for athletic watches: always go for the big display and the maximum number of laps.

Watch for Distance Runners:
This watch fits the need for distance runners who run often and want to keep their times on the watch. The large numbers on the face are easy to read which is good when running with or without correctiv lenses. The buttons are good size and easy to navigate. The one major problem with this watch is the band. It is molded to the watch and therefore can not be replaced. I have had three of these watches and I had to replace the watch because the band broke. By still purchasing the same model, I still think it is a good buy.

Avid Hard Core Swimmer Loves it:
I bought this for my sister who is a avid swimmer. She competes in masters swim meets in both relays and single races. The practices alone that she puts in to prepare for these would destroy any average watch and so far this watch has risen to the task. In fact, so far she has only used the split lap features and regular timer and she already loves it. She hasn't even begun to use all of the other features but she is anticipating discovering all of them. With recordable times, workouts and goals just to mention a few I believe this watch will more than meet her needs. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is because i gave it to her in March and I want to see how long it lasts as the speedo one i gave her last year barely lasted a year.
