Paracelsus Elixir:
I love doing woodworking as a hobby. The other day I was planing wood using my 3 horsepower power-planer and due to a brief lack of concentration passed the wood through against the grain. I was guiding the wood in with my thumbs and the machine kicked the wood back hitting my thumbs; one harder than the other. It hit me so hard that the wood itself split and I thought at first that I may had broken my right thumb. Realizing that I could still work I continued on as my thumbs began to swell.
