ACT! By Sage Premium 2008 10.0 Upgrade

ACT 2008:
ACT! By Sage Premium 2008 10.0 Multi-Pack I use ACT in a multi-user network environment. I've have used ACT since ACT 4.0. I noticed some reviews from others discussing the installation/performance was slower. Our installation was done on a Windows Server 2003, Service Pack 2 and was able to set up ACT 2008 Premium for Wkgps within 45 minutes. All went smoothly! I am running my db on a laptop and sync every hour (running as a service), which I love. Make sure your pc has good RAM (1 GB or better).

Just Got it and Love It:
We just upgraded this week - excellent transition, no bugs, and it really works! I love that it works with Office 2007 (ran into problems with that and the older version). It's really customizable, and our company is able to use it to track just what we need to know about people who work with us. I love the scheduling capabilities - it's not just scheduling a task in outlook, but it's connected to a contact, their history, their project - the whole thing. Email integration is nice - no more ACT email client! That thing was awful! The icons look different so it took a bit to get used to (new phone symbol, flashier buttons), but all in all, I'm glad we upgraded.

At Last They Got it Right!:
I've been a user since ACT 3.0 (1998). All the current features of this version make it very worthwhile--the Company record, the built in dashboard, and the sheer customizability. Our company has customized it a great deal to fit our business processes--and are at a point where we couldn't live without it. We keep track of every email sent on the contact records, report on our sales pipeline and marketing campaign success, and basically keep on top of all our clients. We access our database both from windows installs and the web client--which gives us great flexibility...and the look and feel of both are virtually the same! We felt that ACT2005 was incredibly slow--but this version (and the previous one) has sped it up significantly...so that there's no problem anymore. Although I would recommend 1Gb of RAM if your going to install it on a machine (however, the web client doesn't need much memory at all).
