Iittala brings modern design into the kitchen with its line of glass storage jars by Pentagon Design. While the earlier jars were lightly tinted with clear lids, the 2007 model features a clear body, mouth-blown of non-leaded crystal, with a blood-red lid made of mineral-rich glass. The striking jar, available in several heights all with a 4-1/4-inch diameter, can be used to store tea, spices, sugar, pasta, and plenty of other edibles on the counter, and will stack to save space. A rubber seal in the lid locks in freshness. Because the red lid speaks of the holiday season, the jar makes an imaginative gift in its own right, especially when filled with handmade chocolate truffles or sugared nuts.
