Book Description: This translation is rooted in the work that was done with the Revised Version (RV). In 1870, an invitation was extended to American religious leaders for scholars to work on the Revised Version project. A year later, 30 scholars were chosen by Phillip Schaff. These scholars began work in 1872. In 1901, The American Standard Version (ASV) was published. It has earned the reputation of being a rock solid translation of the original Hebrew and Greek texts.
Impossible to read!: This Kindle edition is completely unusable. The table of contents is not linked to the content; the content frequently dwindles off into single letters (left justified); there is no way to tell, on a particular page, what chapter, or even which book of this Bible you are attempting to read! One star is too generous, but the only option available.
DON"T BUY IT: I wanted to second the earlier review. Absolutely TERRIBLE formatting, unreadable. I know it was one of the bargain versions, but really, I expected it to be useable.
