Woolrich - Sure it's cute. But even more important, this little birdhouse is the perfect place for clinging and cavity-dwelling birds to raise their young. It is ideal for such backyard favorites as nuthatches, chickadees, titmice, and house wrens. The acorn design is cast from tough all-weather masonry that's easy for these birds to cling to as they enter the nest, much like they would cling to dead tree trunks in the wild as they enter a hollow cavity. And there is no perch because a perch means only one thing to these little birds--danger. Larger, more aggressive birds use perches to land on as they threaten the eggs and young of cavity-dwellers.
