Spinning circles around standard pop bands:
Sweet Sweet Candy is clearly a bunch of really talented musicians, having a really good time. You can't pigeonhole the music 'cause they bounce from style to style - and make it all sound good. My favorite is "Feel" - the time signature's all over the map and still your toes keep tapping. Let some real musicians show you there's more to music than the four chords you hear on the radio!

Hybrid Urban Tunes:
This group skillfully eludes categorization. At once, the album weaves sounds of jazz nostalgia with a range of takes on contemporary urban grooves. It's a masterful work of hybridity that compels the body to move to the beat--but is equally a treat for the keen, attentive ear seeking out something complex.

Excellent musicianship:
Hard to classify. Too rock to be jazz -- too jazz to be rock. The horn and rhythm sections are absolutely tight. Wonderful progression over their last CD. If you appreciate great playing, this one's for you. Catch 'em live if you're in Chicago.

refreshing new sound:
I really enjoy the Spinning CD. I am not a musician. I just like to listen to good music. I love the Spinning CD!! The jazzy/unique sound of this band is really refreshing. The more I listen to it - the more I like it. I highly recommend it.

A band with a lot of promise:
"Spinning" is a really satisfying CD. The band emphasizes rhythmic invention, and as a result the songs get better with repeated listenings. The horns give the CD a nice jazzy feel, but without ever getting in the way of the driving beats. The vocals are great, and the sound is tight even though the band is aggressively exploring that unchartered territory between rock and jazz. The 3 live tracks at the end are a bonus - they let the listener see both the similarities and the contrasts between the studio work and live performances of a really fine band.
